I've been a dedicated entrepreneur in this community for the past 16 years, being Highland Insurance Group my third small business. This one is mainly dedicated to our Latino community with an entire licensed and bilingual team. My journey has been driven by a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a knack for motivating teams to reach their fullest potential. As an Insurance Agent since 2022 my commitment is to help provide top-notch coverage choices and guidance.
While management is my proficiency, my belief in the strength of teamwork and collaboration goes beyond the industry. My beautiful wife, who is the principal agent and leader of our flourishing agency, leads by fostering an environment where each individual's strengths shine, and mutual support is a cornerstone. Together, we've forged a dynamic relationship that not only propels our business forward but also sets a remarkable example of unwavering dedication and unity.
Among my most cherished achievements is my role as a husband and father to our son.

Mariana Fernández, born in Venezuela, is an Exclusive Agent of Allstate and marketing specialist of Highland Insurance Group LLC.
She earned her degree in Social Communication with a specialization in Journalism from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
In 2014, she emigrated to Baltimore, Maryland, in search of new professional opportunities. Despite the challenges she faced along the way, she never stopped fighting for her dreams.
With determination and the support of her husband, she set out to build a better future for her family. Since 2022, she has led Highland Insurance Group—an insurance agency committed to serving the Hispanic community, founded on the values of service, dedication, honesty, and kindness.
As an insurance agent, she has received more than 20 recognitions for both herself and her agency, a testament to the meaningful impact her team makes in the community every day.
Mariana inspires us with her resilience and reminds us that we are stronger than we think, and that today’s blessings are the result of yesterday’s prayers. Her greatest treasures are her faith in God and the love of her family.
Esther Fernández
Office Manager - Licensed Sales Producer
I moved to the United States in 2015 from Venezuela with my amazing dog Sony. I've been in the community of Baltimore since then and started my career in insurance in 2021.
In my free time I love to watercolor painting in my garden, spend time with my husband and my lovely dog Max, and I'm the proudest auntie of my beautiful, smart and funny godson, Liam.
I joined Highland Insurance Group on March 1st, 2022, when it opened its doors, celebrating my own birthday that day. I am proud of being the office manager of the most amazing and caring team ever.
What I love the most is how we deeply care for customers and for each other. It's rare to find a team that works and have fun all the time. I am grateful for all the coaching and the professional and personal growth opportunities. There's no boss or staff here. Is just a leader and a team, and that makes the difference.
Luisa Fernanda Díaz

I moved to the United States in 2022 and I made Maryland my home with my husband, two daughters, a dog and a cat. I love them dearly!
My favorite thing is to spend time with them, travel, read a good book and watch movies! I graduated from college in Colombia in 2007 in Marketing and Advertising and got my master's degree on marketing and management in 2021 from the Politecnico GranColombiano University.
I joined Highland Insurance Group in 2022 participating on my first Latino Festival. I really enjoy being part of this team because it feels like a close-knit family! We genuinely care for each other, collaborate seamlessly, and make teamwork a priority.
Michelle Escala

I live in Orlando, FL since 2017 and I work remotely for Highland Insurance Group since 2022. I have learned to know and love both communities as they are similar in culture and I love visiting Maryland, just not when it's too cold.
I graduated from Universidad Central de Venezuela in International Studies, and I got a masters degree in marketing in the same alma mater.
On my free time I love to go visit Sr. P. Phillips Community Park with Bailey, my dog and with my family as there are activities for everybody. I also enjoy going to the beach really early in the morning during the weekend, reading and watching a good documentary.
I joined Highland Insurance Group in 2022 guided by the agent, Mariana Fernández, an extraordinary person who loves what she does and has taught me to love and value what I do as well. I feel very lucky for being part of this team. We all strive to provide the best service, work as a team, support each other, have constant training and coaching, there's a balance between work and personal life that is hard to achieve in a company, and there's a culture of excellence in everything we do.

Marvila Araujo arrived in the United States in 2016, bringing with her a strong academic and professional background. She earned her law degree from the University of Carabobo in 1997 and has further enhanced her education with multiple postgraduate degrees and a doctorate, reflecting her passion for knowledge and excellence.
In her free time, she enjoys an active and well-balanced lifestyle. Her hobbies include reading, walking, jogging, going to the gym, watching movies, and cooking. Above all, her greatest joy and pride is her daughter, whom she loves with all her heart.
For Marvila, being part of Highland Insurance Group means belonging to an environment where professional leadership, teamwork, and clear goals are essential.
